The Docklands Light Railway (DLR), is a fully grade separated rapid transit system in East London.

Routes
[edit | edit source]The DLR is shown as three different shaded routes on station and carriage maps. The routes are: Bank and Stratford (London) to Lewisham via Canary Wharf, with many services from Stratford terminating at the latter instead. Bank and Stratford International - Woolwich Arsenal Tower Gateway - Beckton
Frequency
[edit | edit source]The DLR generally operates an every 10 minute service pattern on each service, except Bank - Lewisham which operates every 5 minutes.
This creates a more frequent service on core routes between the City of London and Canary Wharf, and to London City Airport.
Rolling Stock
[edit | edit source]Historical
[edit | edit source]The original DLR used the P86 & P89 which are currently in service in Essen.
Current
[edit | edit source]The current DLR stock is made up of the B90, B92 and B2K of which are being withdrawn due the introduction of the B23 Stock, which has been delayed. During this time the DLR is running a reduced frequency and shorter trains to reduce milage on the trains. The DLR also uses the B07 stock which is being retained as well as the extra batch of B07s which are sometimes known incorrectly as B09s.
future
[edit | edit source]Despite new trains having entered service on the 30th of September 2025 on the Woolwich Arsenal to Stratford International service, they have since been withdrawn due to alignment issues with stopping.

On Our Lines
[edit | edit source]Social Events
[edit | edit source]The DLR is often utilised as a mode of transport during many of our London based social events, such as in June 2025.
