Great Missenden is the first station past the London Underground for Chiltern Railways. Great Missenden was opened by the Metropolitan Railway on the 1st of September 1892. In 1960 the Metropolitan Line services were cut back to Amersham from Aylesbury as part of the electrification of the route. In 1966 services north of Aylesbury were withdrawn by British Rail as part of the closure of the Great Central Main Line.

Services

All services are provided by Chiltern Railways running at a frequency of two trains per hour off peak and four tracks per hour in the Peak direction.
