LegOOLand[edit | edit source]

Tuesday 14 May - 1000 onwards
LEGOLAND Windsor

We are delighted to announce our next social event will be a trip to LEGOLAND! Coinciding with one of our Stations of the Month in May, we'll be packing up the (metaphorical) OOLmobile and visiting LEGOLAND Windsor for what we hope will be a fun packed day of trains, lego and fun.

If you want to join us just sign up below - numbers dependant, we will investigate booking group rates to save everyone some money. Please don't sign up unless you are firmly joining us (or clearly indiciate otherwise), and please have funds ready to pay for group rate in advance if we are able to secure it. If not, ordinary tickets can be purchased in advance via the LEGOLAND website, or on the door on the day.

We will also share details of our travel plan to/from Central London and LEGOLAND Windsor soon if you are able to join us.

We hope to see you there! ☀️

Attendees[edit | edit source]

If you are planning on attending, or attended, the event, you are encouraged to add your name here. We will use this information to estimate numbers and investigate group discount ticketing.

Ticketing[edit | edit source]

A special rate of £28pp has been secured for members who have confirmed their attendance in advance. Alternatively, you can book your own ticket on the LEGOLAND website for £29pp, including on the day prior to arrival. On the door tickets to LEGOLAND are £68pp.

As there is no fixed travel itinerary, and members will be arriving from and departing to different locations, no group travel arrangements are anticipated. For those starting within the London zonal area it is recommended to use contactless payment to either Windsor & Eton Central or Windsor & Eton Riverside, and then pay the £2 single fare for the bus by cash or card. Those coming from further afield may find point-to-point tickets better value.

Itinerary[edit | edit source]

We will be meeting at Liverpool Street by the Kindertransport memorial statue (near the main entrance to London Underground from the National Rail concourse) at 0800. You are welcome to find us elsewhere on route if that's easier - approximate times are listed below.

Our departure from Liverpool Street will be on the 0817 Elizabeth line service to Reading. This service passes through Paddington at 0828, and we will alight at Slough at 0902.

Here, we interchange onto the Great Western Railway shuttle service to Windsor & Eton Central, departing at 0910 from platform 1. We should arrive into Windsor at 0916, and then have around 20 minutes free time until catching the bus to LEGOLAND from the stop outside the Theatre Royal. 703 flightline, operated by Thames Valley Buses, departs at 0938 and delivers us to the Main Entrance at LEGOLAND for 0959.

Those wishing to take a train via the Windsor Lines and arriving into Windsor & Eton Riverside should ensure they are on the 0833 departure from London Waterloo (0843 Clapham Junction; 0853 Richmond; 0912 Staines) to ensure they can make the 703 bus.

Dress Code[edit | edit source]

Whilst we do not have any formal dress code for On Our Lines social events, we will always encourage you to wear your railway merch or pride swag, in keeping with the ethos of our community! Of course, please ensure first and foremost that you dress for the prevalent weather conditions of the day, and do ensure that any garments do not display any offensive or distasteful slogans or graphics.
