Twyford was opened on the 1st of July 1839 by the Great Western Railway and is located on the Great Western Main Line at the junction with the Henley-on-Thames Branch. The Henley-on-Thames branch opened in 1865 and saw a bay platform installed. Twyford receives a half hour Great Western Railway and Elizabeth line service to London and Reading plus a half hourly GWR Henley-on-Thames tunnel.
