'''Fenny Stratford''' is a single-platform station situated on the [[Marston Vale line]]. Opened on 17 November 1946 as part of the [[London and Birmingham Railway]]'s route between [[Bedford]] and [[Bletchley]], the line grew and at its peak was an important artery between [[Oxford]] and [[Cambridge]], leading it to be known as the [[Varsity line]]. However, changing traffic patterns led to rationalisation across the route, with the extensions to both Oxford and Cambridge succumbing to closure and much of the line being singled. Fenny Stratford became a single platform station, barely long enough to accommodate a two-car [[diesel multiple unit]].

The route is operated by [[London Northwestern Railway]] using [[class 150]] diesel multiple units, with a small fleet of three maintained at [[Bletchley TMD]] for the purpose. Previously, the route was operated by [[class 230]] [[D Train]] units converted by [[VivaRail]] specifically for the route. However, these were permanently withdrawn in December 2022 due to the collapse of VivaRail, leading to a prolonged period of replacement bus operation to the station.

Prior to the introduction of the class 230 trains in 2019, [[class 150]] and [[class 153]] [[Sprinter]] trains could be found working services on the line. During our first visit to the Marston Vale branch one class 230 and one class 153 were in operation.
