Wokingham is located at the junction between the South Western Railway Windsor Lines and the Great Western Railway North Downs Line. Wokingham Railway Station was opened on the 4th of July 1849 by the South Eastern Railway in 1856 the Staines, Wokingham & Woking Junction Railway opened the South Western Railway Line to Staines. In 2013 a new station build was built to replace the CLASP Station building.
Listed Footbridge
Wokingham features a Grade II listed footbridge which is over 130 years old made from sections of Rail's. The footbridge sits next to the Level Crossing which was until February 2023 controlled from Wokingham Signal Box.[1]
Basingstoke & Wokingham Railway
Wokingham could have been a more heavily used station if the Basingstoke & Wokingham Railway was built in 1895.[2][3][4]
