This page gives a brief overview of current and planned future major works or other events (generally lasting at least a week or impacting more than half the weekends in a month) that significantly impact parts of the rail network. Where possible, stations in the affected areas will not be selected as station of the month during the works.

Great Britain

Greater London

  • 31 May 2025 - Spring 2026 - Cutty Sark DLR station closed (escalator replacement) [1]
  • 8 May 2026 - 23 August 2025 - Berrylands station closed for rebuilding [2]

Greater Manchester

  • 2 August 2025 - 23 August 2025 - Stockport. Railway closed south of station (bridge replacement) [3]

Scotland

  • 18 May - 29 August - Hamilton West platform reconstruction, trains towards Paisley will not call
  • 18 May - 23 August - Hillington West platform reconstruction, trains towards Motherwell and Larkhall will not call

South East

Wales

  • 19 July - 31 August - railway closed Caerphilly - Rhymney (OLE installation, signalling upgrades)

West Midlands

Yorkshire and the Humber

  • 30 August 2025 - 29 September 2025 - Huddersfield Station Closed (TRU works) [4]
  • 30 August 2025 - 2027 - Deighton station closed (TRU works) [5]

South West

  • 28 July - Further Notice - Crewkerne station closed (Unstable embankments) [6]
