The Class 458 is fleet of 4 & 5 car 75mph and 100mph in service with South Western Railway. Built by Alstom in 1999 for South West Trains.

South West Trains 458, 458021 at London Waterloo

The class 458/0s were a fleet of 30 4 car 100mph which ran with South West Trains Pior conversion into the 458/5. The 458/0 were so unrealible that South West Trains withdraw all 458/0s from service. South West Trains sub-leased two 458/0s to Gatwick Express to work alongside the Class 460 as a solo 8 car unit however the 458/0s never ran with Gatwick Express. South West Trains converted some Class 450 into 450/5s High Capcity units to ease over crowding during the lose of the 458/0s.

South Western Railway 458/5 Sunningdale

The Class 458/5 were a fleet of 36 5 car 75mph which are for Metros however can cover the varst majority of South Western Railway Network. The 450/5s remainded until all 458/0s and Class 460s were converted to Class 458/5s.

South Western Railway 458, 459421 Reading

The Class 458/4 are a fleet of 28 4 car 100mph units meant for the London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour services as 12 car units however they do not fit as 12 car units into Londom Waterloo nor are they.permitted past Clapham Junction on the Mains apart from between Weybridge and Woking in passenger service. These units are also known as the Class 459 in Diagrams to reduce confusion between the 458/5 and 458/4.
