History

The Class 507s were built by British Rail for the Merseyrail services, they were part of the PEP family of trains built by British Rail in the 1970s. The Class 507s worked alongside the Class 508. Unlike the 508s the 507s went straight to Merseryside.

In 2023 Angle Trains and Merseyrail repainted 507001 in a modified version of British Rail Blue. The class 507s had two Branch Line Society farewell tours, these were the "507 Sunset" and the "507 Farewell".
