Four Lines Modernisation

Disctrict Line S8 Stock Acton Town

The Four Lines Modernisation is a resigmalling project for the District Line, Hammersmith & City Line, Circle Line and Metropolitain Line. It is being done in phases known as SMA ( Signal Mitgation Areas) which are numbered 0.5-14.

SMA 0.5

SMA 0.5 was Hammersmith to Latimer Road on the Hammersmith & City Line and Circle Line.

SMA 1

SMA 1 was Latimer Road to London Paddington

SMA 2

SMA 2 was London Paddington to Finchley Road and Euston Square. Edgware Road signal cabin fell silent under this phase.

SMA 12

SMA 12 is Fulham Broadway to Wimbledon, which would have need the closure of Earls Court and the overlaying of CBTC on to Wimbledon Signal Box between East Putney and Wimbledon, which has since been descoped tto only be Fulham to East Puntey.
