Class 313

The Class 313 is a 3 car 75mph dual voltage Electric Multiple unit built for British Rail in house by British Rail Engineering Limited based on the PEP for the Northern City Line. The Class 313s were withdrawn at the May 2023 Timetable change after 47 years of service with multiple TOCs. At the end of there life they could be found crossing the Sussex Countryside.

[edit | edit source]British Rail ordered the 62 strong fleet which were built between 1976 & 1977. They entered service on the Northern City Line in 1976.
Network South East
[edit | edit source]Network South East split the fleet into two parts, one part fleet was retained on the Northern City Line with the other part of the fleet being put to use on the Watford DC Line and North London Line.
WAGN
[edit | edit source]Sliverlink
[edit | edit source]Sliverlink used the Class 313 on the North London Line and Watford DC Line, along side there fleet of Class 508/3s. Sliverlink operated the Class 313s from the 2nd of March 1997 to the 10th of November 2007 when they were passed to London Overground.
