Heathrow Express

Heathrow Express (HEX) formally Heathrow Fast Train, is an open access operator which runs services between London Paddington and Heathrow T5 via Heathrow T2&3. Heathrow Express contract runs up to 2028, using 12 ETCS fitted Class 387 supplied from Great Western Railway having been made redundant because of Elizabeth line taking over the Reading Stoppers.
History
[edit | edit source]Heathrow Express was launched as Heathrow Fast Train while trains terminated at Heathrow Junction with a bus taking passengers to Heathrow rather than the Train. This lasted for around 6 months after which time it was rebranded to Heathrow Express and ran to Heathrow T4 via T2&3.
Rolling Stock
[edit | edit source]Heathrow Express started off with the Class 332 from Siemens and CAF, which were 4 and 5 car units able to do at least 100mph.[1]
