To help keep our SimSig Sessions varied and enjoyable, we often create add-ons for various simulations which can be overlaid on top of a base timetable. Generally, these will follow one train, such as a railtour or test train, over each simulation available for the path, and are able to be loaded either standalone or as part of a chain. Each add-on will be fully tested to ensure correct functionality as an individual train (and, where a train is a real-life working, that it runs as closely as possible to the route taken in reality), however no guarantees are made that the trains will be 'without conflict' when loaded into a base timetable - after all, that's part of the fun!
You're welcome to download and play our add-on timetables with your own sims, but if you share them on please ensure you leave the copyright notice and link to our SimSig Home page intact. We also ask that if others are joining your games using our add-ons that you acknowledge the source.
This page will list add-ons that have been created, with a brief overview of the train(s), route(s), simulations available and any other relevant information.

Notes[edit | edit source]
- Some creative license is used for light locomotive shunts around Doncaster for ease of use. It is not recommended to load Doncaster Station after 0915 unless you are able to manually enter a single class 90 and arrange it to join 1Z24. All other simulations will support loading at any time.
Known bugs[edit | edit source]
- On Kings Cross, 1Z24 cannot be timetabled via Welwyn Garden City Through Siding through to sim limitations. The train will accept this route if offered, however.

The Chopper Topper Returns[edit | edit source]
This add-on is of The Chopper Topper Returns railtour, which operated around the West Midlands on 2 July 2022. Operated by SLC Operations and promoted by Pathfinder Railtours, the train used four class 20 locomotives and nine mark 1 carriages.

Notes[edit | edit source]
- On Telford & Oxley (OS) Paid simulation 1Z41 must be routed through Wellington to allow the back end to get behind the signal. Simulation limitations also see the train routed via the DML - in reality, it reversed in platform 2.
The Friday Charter[edit | edit source]
This add-on is of The Friday Charter services, which operated between Crewe, London Euston and Manchester Piccadilly on most Fridays between 19 August and 30 September 2022. Operated by Locomotive Services under their InterCity brand, the train used either a class 87 or class 90 locomotive, nine mark 3 carriages and a Driving Van Trailer. Each run is simulated, with a specific working randomly selected when the first train enters.

Known bugs[edit | edit source]
- Allocations are not currently provided for the shunts off and on Crewe TMD; they have been left off for simplicity of shunt moves. They were as follows:

- 26/08 - 47593
- 02/09 - 47828
- 09/09 - 47853

Art Deco Train Journey[edit | edit source]
This add-on is of the Art Deco Train Journies which operated on the Metropolitan line between Amersham and Watford or Harrow-on-the-Hill on 3 and 4 September 2022. Operated for the London Transport Museum by London Underground, the train used LUL's preserved 1938 stock unit. Both days are simulated separately; which runs will be automatically chosen at random shortly before the train enters.

Notes[edit | edit source]
- Bidston stabling siding (
BIDSTON STAB SDG
) is shorter than the train (90m vs 120m) - this is not a bug. The back of the train fouled the running line, so care should be taken to regulate services as required. The driver will call up for permission to proceed prior to departing the siding, as the train will be standing beyond the shunt signal. Ensure you have secured points as necessary before routing the train into the siding - in reality the MOM would be involved in this process.
